CUSTOMER OF THE WEEK!

Check it out! We have a new CUSTOMER OF THE WEEK! This week, we chose ERIC EVERSON because these chrome ic! berlin frames look so great on him!

Eric stopped in to the store a few times to make sure he chose the *perfect* frame. With some help from Mary R, he chose the Arnaud frame by ic! berlin. But Eric wasn't the only one who became an Eye Spy customer, his wife and son both got new sunglasses!

There's some truth to the saying "good things come to those who wait."

Congratulations, Eric, you're our CUSTOMER OF THE WEEK!

Hey, speaking of ic! berlin, we're having an ic! berlin trunk show this weekend! We'll have the ic! berlin collection as well as a special selection of 100+ Francis Klein frames! Oh. My. Goodness. This is going to be a great weekend!

The November Trunk Shows are here! Every Saturday in November we are hosting a trunk show...including IC! Berlin (November 21), Francis Klein (November 21), and Lafont (November 28). We will have the full collections including new styles you've never seen before...for one day only!!! For once, you'll be looking forward to November in Chicago!

The Specs Therapist is Back!!!

Hey Eye Spy friends!

Specs Therapist (Mary Hamilton) here. I've been away from Eye Spy for the last two weeks for a cross-country literary tour (The Dollar Store Tour) sponsored by Chicago's own Featherproof Books. We went to 11 cities in 14 days and I can tell you that everywhere I went I saw Spectacular Specs! I saw Lafonts in New Orleans and I spotted a pair of bright green Theos in Baltimore among many other bright and funky frames.

Rockin' blue specs in Nashville!

The trip was great, but I missed Eye Spy! The first thing I did was take a walk around the store and coo over all of the new frames that arrived while I was away, I can't wait to see them on all of you!

It's good to be back.

I am soooo into BLUE

Oh dear, it's not even Valentine's Day yet and I am so head over heels in LOVE!

No bouquet is complete without a pair of Theos.

I looked around me the other day and found myself surrounded by beautiful BLUE frames!

Ambushed by beauty.

All shapes and sizes!

You can show me a round any time!

With rhinestones!
Without rhinestones!

Hello? Is it me you're looking for?...YES!

Plastic!
Titanium!
Stainless steel!

Go ahead and grant me three wishes, but I swear to gosh, my dreams have come true and they are BLUE!

ollllld frieennndddsss....

I was in New York this past weekend and was fortunate enough to spend some time with two former Eye Spy employees.

It was a joy and a half to see Sean "Display Dude" Dearing and Mary "Optician Magician" Regal.

Sean educated us on the significant difference between handmade plastic frames and the plastic frames that I had to buy in Chinatown because I forgot my sunglasses at home. Fascinating, the difference. I'll explain it to you sometime when you stop by the store.

Mary informed me that Trivex (a material we use often at Eye Spy due to the lens being impact-resistant and offering better visual acuity as well as UV protection) is a material that is very difficult to cut and many labs in and around NYC won't even consider making lenses using Trivex because it takes so much skill to cut properly.

Fortunately, our lab, HOYA, is more than able to cut lenses in a variety of wild shapes that are not only functional, but (you guessed it) fashionable!

I am thrilled that we have HOYA as I have just found my soul-mate IC! Berlin frames and only Trivex will do for this lady right here.

Sean and Mary say "Hello." They miss you, Chicago, but be assured, NYC is better for having them residing within its city limits. They're tearin' up the town with some Eye Spy charm!
