Our Customer of the Week this week is LINUS LEE!

Linus has been a *great* customer at Eye Spy for several years now; he has great taste and we loved helping him choose a new look! Linus found this SUPER COOL Anne et Valentin frame. It's so modern and cool, it's a great contrast to the retro Lafont frame that he used to wear!

Woo Hoo! Our CUSTOMER OF THE WEEK this week was looking for a frame that would take her look into a funky new phase! Congratulations to SANDRA FORKINS! Sandra wanted frames that would stand out in a crowd and show her personality with flare!


Perfect choice! Sandra chose this fantastic Anne et Valentin frame in red and silver. Anne et Valentin frames are known for not only being whimsical, but also well-made and strong! This pair is made with a stainless steel frame that makes these glasses light as a feather! Sandra is also wearing HOYA freeform lenses! Whoo! Our CUSTOMER OF THE WEEK this week picked up one of the *most amazing frames ever!!!!*

Kristin Millikan came in to Eye Spy in search of a new look. She was so much fun and had so much energy! We found two frames that looked wonderful on her! After taking some time to think on it and getting the opinion of friends and family, Kristin chose go to with this Theo Eyewitness frame. And really, even though she had another frame in mind, I think this was love at first sight.

When Kristin walked into the store, this frame saw her and was all "woo hoo hoo, I like you."

When Ann Marie Levy picked up her new Grotesque frames, we took her picture, of course, but we missed the best part of the frame!

Our Customer of the Week this week is Bonnie Harrison!


I mean, come on, how could we not? Look at how awesome she is in these Anne et Valentin frames! Bonnie traveled all the way from Hyde Park to get her new eyeglasses at Eye Spy and boy are we glad she did! Not only does Bonnie have awesome taste (she still has her eye on a gorgeous pair of Theo frames), but she also has a kick-butt personality.

Ch-ch-check it out! The Button-o-Matic is coming to Eye Spy! For the month of September the Butto-o-Matic machine will be dispensing its limited-edition series of 24-karat gold buttons at Eye Spy! We will be having a celebration on Saturday, September 12 from 12-5pm... with Beer, Bagels, and a make-your-own Button Machine!

CUSTOMER OF THE WEEK x 2!

Wow, I just couldn't make up my mind this week when it came down to choosing our CUSTOMER OF THE WEEK! There were so many amazing frames chosen in the last few days that my mind went into a spinning dizzy spell of puzzlement!

But do you know what sturdied me? Red and blue glasses, that's what. This week, we have two, that's right two CUSTOMERS OF THE WEEK because two is better than one and sometimes the only way to make yourself happy is to let both sides win.

First up, HANNAH JENNINGS, who just picked up her Theo frames this morning! The way the blue just makes her eyes look so bright and lively really brightened my day, and Hannah's too, I'm sure! I love love love the way Theo frames can express our whimsical side!

It's a blue, blue summer, do be do...

Next up is TIFFANY FARRIS! Faced with the conundrum of choosing between two gorgeous frames, Tiffany went with both pairs. Smart girl. One pair is a lovely turquoise and tortoise cat-eye frame by Anne et Valentin. Her second pair is also an Anne et Valentin frame, but for this one, Tiffany listened to her funky side and boy are we glad she did, check out how **amazing** she looks in her red Anne et Valentin glasses!

This week our CUSTOMER OF THE WEEK is and Independence Day Special with TWO, that's right, TWO CUSTOMERS OF THE WEEK!

Catherine Webb and Sara Murphy came in to look at glasses together and each found an adorable frame to suit their energetic personalities! Catherine found a classic Francis Klein frame with rhinestones and a detail on the temples (sides) of the frame that is simply to. die. for.

Sara was browsing the sunglasses and found a Lafont frame that fit her PERFECTLY! What a lucky day!

CUSTOMER OF THE WEEK!

This week it's all in the family with our CUSTOMER OF THE WEEK, Lael Johnson! In May, his wife, Eugenie, was named our Customer of the week for her amazing luck in finding a wonderful pair of Francis Klein sunglasses on the very day they arrived in the store.

Lael had similar luck a couple of years ago with a pair of IC Berlin glasses. The IC Berlin brand has been good to Lael and when he came in to the store for a new eye exam, he knew he wanted to stick with the durable and stylin' IC Berlin frames!

Of course, being a man of impeccable taste (he is married to Eugenie after all) Lael chose one of the newest and, if I do say so myself, awesomest IC Berlin frames in the store.

Lucky guy.

We've got a new look!

Eye Spy has a new look!

green is the new awesome

You know us, at Eye Spy, we like to be as green as possible. For a while, we've been bored with our plain brown facade. It didn't accurately represent the Eye Spy attitude!

Then, Alissa had the brilliant idea of putting astro-turf on the store! She cut the panels in her own back yard and put them up with Velcro, so when we remove the middle two panels, we have a fun purple chalkboard hidden away! Wait, there's more!

It turns out the astro-turf is made out of recycled materials. So we did get the green facade we've always wanted. It just took a little elbow grease and a lot of clever thinkin'!

AMY chose these incredible ORANGE Anne et Valentin frames and ***wow*** do they look great on her! The orange frames make her eyes POP and SPARKLE. At Eye Spy, we love Anne et Valentin frames because their funky styles and interesting angles are so fun and bright. Especially these orange Anne et Valentin frames, they make Amy's face light up!

oops! We took a little nap and forgot to choose a CUSTOMER OF THE WEEK last week, so today, we're naming TWO, that's right, TWO CUSTOMERS OF THE WEEK!

IC! BERLIN Trunk show this weekend!

What is a trunk show? you ask. Well let me tell you...

Every year, Alissa invites our designers to show off their new collections to our customers, before they're available in the store! Their representatives bring in cases filled with every frame in the collection-in every color.

What's special about November is that they bring along the brand-sparkling new collection! It's like getting a sneak peak at the future! It's like the funkiest, hippest, coolest, most awesomest time machine ever!

Last week we had Grotesque and Ray-Ban in the store and we had so much fun trying on at all of the beautiful colors and shapes both companies offer. BTW, that's why i love eyeglasses so much...they are so easy to try-on! You don't have to change your clothes, bring socks or high heels, blah, blah, blah.


This weekend, we will have IC! Berlin in the store and, let me tell you, they hit it out of the park. Recently, they won an award for their new designs and for one day, we will have them here at Eye Spy!

IC! Berlin makes sturdy, strong frames out of stainless steel. They have a patented hinge design that makes the frame virtually unbreakable. But the best part (in my opinion) about IC! Berlin is that the design is subtle and sophisticated while still staying super funky in some styles and classic in others. So gosh darn cool.

Anne et Valentin Representative in-store Tuesday, June 25!

Yes! Almost all of the Anne et Valentin Frames will be in one place, at one time! Weeee!


You see, every now and then, the regional representative for Anne et Valentin stops by the store to show The Queen of Specs new frames so she can choose the frames that will be just right for our Eye Spy Family. On Tuesday, June 24th, the representative will be in the store at around 2pm.


I think the days that the reps stop by the store are some of my favorite days of the year. It goes something like this: My birthday, Halloween, and Reps in the Store Days.

The A et V representative brings with her cases and cases of frames. Beautiful, shiny, and new. A garden of whimsy. A funky brigade. A colorful frame-tastic revolution! Can you handle it?!

Oh, I think I need to sit down, all of this imagination and wonder is making me dizzy...
