You know what’s great about funky glasses? They allow you to show the world a little bit of your personality without having to say a word. They’re a silent handshake “Hello.” No, they’re more like a hug.

When Grace came in to Eye Spy last week and saw this Francis Klein frame with little bumble bees painted in the corners, she found her new look. We love this frame on Grace and we can’t imagine it on anyone else.

I know, Right?!

CUSTOMER OF THE WEEK!

This week, our Customer of the Week is DANTE!!!

Dante came in to Eye Spy a while back looking for new frames. He could tell that this Theo Eyewitness frame was the one, but….. he wanted a second opinion.

So, we took some pictures, emailed them to Dante and he was able to show his friends what he (and we) hoped would be his new specs.

Well, first instincts are usually right and Dante’s friends (wisely) supported his choice!

Virtually Indestructible

Yesterday, one of our favorite customers came in to Eye Spy with an emergency.

She had run over her ic! berlin Nan frame with her car:

This is after 20 minutes of repair work…

Our Specs Therapist (me) didn’t bat an eye when she saw the twists and bends in the metal.

Our customer had to run to a meeting at work and, while she was away, the Specs Therapist carefully and patiently returned the Nan to her previous glory:

Yaaaaaayyyyy!

Now, the Specs Therapist isn’t going to take all the credit here. You see, ic! berlin makes incredible frames. Absolutely magical frames. That can take just about anything one can throw at them. Really, truly, AWESOME frames. And those lenses? Trivex. Impact resistant, UV protected, and STRONG.

And as a side note, Eye Spy also carries Mykita frames which are just as durable and well-made! The original designers from ic! berlin started Mykita to bring to market a new and improved (!) hinge and designs. Come on by and see them both.

Our Customer of the Week this week is Larry!

Larry came in to Eye Spy looking for a new pair of sunglasses. We immediately knew that Larry wasn’t going to go for any ordinary frame, so we chose this Anne et Valentin frame.

Gotta stay cool in this heat!

Anne et Valentin made some really sharp sunglasses this year and we love the way our customers have been rocking their new shades all over town!

CUSTOMER OF THE WEEK!

This week our Customer of the Week is Philippe!!!

Philippe had known about Eye Spy for a while before he ever set foot in the store. In fact, as a concierge at the Palmer House, he has often referred guests to our fine store, but never had the chance to stop by himself.

Until last week!

Philippe and our frames instantly fell in love with each other. The Anne et Valentin’s looked strong! The ic! berlins looked sleek! But it was the fun and class of this Francis Klein frame (as well as a pretty bold and nifty Theo frame) that finally won Philippe’s heart.

We think he looks awesome in his new frames and we’re super-psyched to have a new friend in Philippe!

This week, our Customer of the Week is….. NOEL!

Noel fell in love with this frame and the cool retro style of Lafont’s reedition aesthetic. We have to agree. The more we look at this picture, the more we see that this Lafont frame is the perfect fit!

* Okay, so Noel is married to the Queen of Specs, but I cross my heart! it had no impact on the decision to name him Customer of the Week. Pinky swear!

SUMMER FUN!

We’ve had a blast over the past couple of weeks, helping our super-awesome and totally fun customers find some truly fantastic frames!

So much fun, in fact that we have not one, not two, but THREE, yes THREE Customers of the Week!

First up is Sissie:

The Optician Magician helped Sissie find these ic! berlin frames and they fit her perfectly!

When Sissie found Eye Spy, she had never felt 100% comfortable in her glasses. But, when she picked up her new frames, she told us that our doctor (the awesome Karen Squier, OD) made her feel really comfortable and was thorough with the exam. We’ve always known that Dr. Squier is one of the most patient and thorough doctors around, but it was really nice to hear that from a customer! We are so happy that we were able to help Sissie find an ic! berlin frame and Hoya ID lenses that makes her feel comfortable and confident! Hooray!

Next we have Diane:

The Specs Therapist is all about helping our customers go on vacation in style.

Diane tried on a few pairs of sunglasses, but when she found these Lafonts, we knew, these were the ones! Alas! Diane was about to go on vacation and needed the sunglasses ASAP! We did our best and made them as quickly as possible and just days before her trip, Diane was able to pick up her brand new, absolutely fantastic, Lafont sunglasses!

And last, but certainly not least, we have Larissa:

Our Opticianista is a matchmaker like no other when it comes to Theos.

I feel like this is a Cinderella situation. Sometimes there is a frame in the store that is so remarkable and awesome that it is just waiting for the right person. The frame is just waiting for that perfect fit and personality and when it happens, WOW! Magic. Bells. Angels singing. Rainbows sparklings. Stars shining. Larissa and this Theo frame go together like rama lama lama ke ding a de dinga dong.

Hooray for our customers! They’ve made this hot hot summer SUPER COOL!

Oh, it’s been a while since we’ve posted a Customer of the Week around here! There’s been so much excitement, what with a new baby and new Theos and new Francis Kleins! It’s all been too much fun!

But you know what they say, good things come to those who wait!

We think our newest Customer of the Week looks so spectacular in his new frames that it was worth waiting for:
