Customer of the Week!!!

Written by on March 17th 2012

Our Customer of the Week is Martise!

Martise was overwhelmed on his first visit at Eye Spy.  He was tired of constantly finding similar shapes and muted colors at other opticals.   We love the aviator Wonderglasses he chose which were inspired by the color of a post-it note!  He also chose a pair of chunky black Theos with bold white graphics…and a pair of geranium red and black Theos that are not pictured.

Congrats, Martise…you rocked it and you are our Customer of the Week!!!

Who Needs 24 Pairs of Glasses Anyway?

Written by on March 15th 2012

Wow, the Queen of Specs has a vast collection of glasses!  Organized from oldest to newest, its easy to see how the trends in eyewear has changed. We love how much bigger glasses are now…so much more room to see with.  Also, the rounder retro shapes that have been coming out are fabulous.

That’s not all…there are a ton more frames below.  There is a reason she is the Queen of Specs!

Dr. Brad Speaks…

Written by on March 7th 2012

Spring has sprung and it’s time to start those outdoor projects, but don’t forget to wear your sunglasses!  Wearing sunglasses provides benefits beyond the obvious comfort and looking even cooler than you already are.  A good pair of sunglasses blocks 100% of the sun’s UV rays.  Why is this important?  The eyelids are the second most likely spot to get skin cancer and exposure to UV rays is a proven cause of skin cancer.  Pterygin, a non-malignant but vision threatening growth on the cornea, is another harmful effect of UV exposure.

But, wait…there’s more!

The acceleration of the onset of cataracts and macular degeneration are caused by the accumulated exposure of UV throughout your life.

So now you have all the excuses you need to get yourself a fantastic pair of sunglasses!

Cheers,

Dr. Brad

Customer of the Week!!!

Written by on January 31st 2012

Is there a pair of glasses that Zenia doesn’t look good in?!  We love that she rocks these bold red Theo frames with confidence.

Zenia has been coming to Eye Spy for over 5 years and boy is she a specs fanatic.  She is not afraid of bold color or funky shapes…as you can tell:-)

The Soixante+5 model by Theo is like music to our ears.  It is one of 6 pieces in the STHEREO collection.  The rivets on each of these acetate glasses take the shape of a PAUSE, STOP and FAST FORWARD button, just like on an iPod, mp3 player or ‘old school’ stereo.  The innovative design at Theo is what we love best!

Congrats, Zenia, you are our Customer of the Week!!!

Customers of the Week!!!

Written by on December 31st 2011

Ooooh, we can’t take our peepers off of Theodore and Peggy’s new glasses!  They came to visit us at Eye Spy all the  way from the west suburbs with the hope of some fantastic new frames…

Theodore specified that he ideally wanted a lightweight frame, but with a large lens area.  The Mykita Till was the perfect fit!!! They are super light due to the stainless steel material and the aviator style gives him tons of room to see.  He loved them so much that he also bought a sunglass version…the Mykita Clifford.

Peggy, on the other hand, had no clue what she was looking for.  Theodore saved the day by suggesting these beauties…and she was in love!  Theo Eyewitness SE is a flattering shape on Peggy showing off her pretty blue eyes.  The asymmetrical decor gives the frame individuality and fun!!!

Congrats, Theodore and Peggy, you are our Customers of the Week!!!

CustomerS of the Week!!!

Written by on November 6th 2011
Our Customers of the Week are Maria & PamWe could not pick one customer this week:)  Ironically, during our Theo trunk show, two of our favorite customers picked up their new Theo frames.

Maria looks like a movie star in her new red glasses.  The frames follow her brow line and the large lenses show off her pretty peepers.

It was hard to find Pam a pair of glasses that fit her large personality, but when she tried on these blue Eyewitness frames…we knew they were perfect.  The bare titanium details give the frame an industrial, modern feel….and the asymmetry of the frame catches just the right amount of attention:-) We love these frames and are sad to see them leave the store, but they have definitely found a good home! Yay.

Congrats, Maria & Pam, you are our CustomerS of the Week!!!

Theo Trunk Show this Saturday!!!

Written by on November 1st 2011
The Theo trunk show is finally here!!! Saturday, November 5th you will be able to view and try on hundreds of Theo frames. If you like funky shapes and tend to be a trend-setter…Theo is the perfect frame line for you. The Theo wearer wants quality, originality, and exclusivity.

In 1989, Theo introduced its ground breaking collection in Antwerp, Belgium to offer the public frames that were not typically seen in the mainstream. The designers wanted a collection that appealed to the individualist, frames worn not only as a necessity but as a unique art piece . Theo also introduced the Eyewitness Collection in 1995 which is an asymmetrical line designed to be in harmony with your individual face!

Trunk shows are a good way to see 2011 collections in 2012. Below is a sneak peek of some new styles that were shown at the trade show in Paris last month and will be here on Saturday. Don’t forget – if you would like to view the Theo frames on Sunday just call for an appointment!

Our customers love Theo frames, the lower photo is Barbara wearing a frame from the Eyewitness line:)

Stay tuned for a posting about the Mykita trunk show on Saturday, November 12th.  Mykita frames are known for their flexible, lightweight design and patented screwless hinge concept.

We are officially open on Mondays from 11am-7pm, now through the end of January.  No need for an appointment…just stop on in!!!
