All eyes should be on our new Customer of the Week: Lillian!
Lillian is a HUGE fan of our Theo frames, and she’s just added a new one to her collection. These fuschia and orange Theo Huitante+Quatre are sure to get anyone’s attention.
In fact, Lillian’s other Theo frames, from the Theo Eyewitness series, are what caught Adrienne’s eye on the set of “Divergent“, the YA book-turned-movie that just filmed here in Chicago. Our own Optical Chanteuse was cast in a featured role in the film and Lillian was part of the film’s makeup team! Adrienne noticed her frames on set and instantly knew she HAD to be an Eye Spy customer.
Congrats to Lillian for being our fabulous customer of the week! We LOVE your new frames:-)

We here at Eye Spy would like to take a moment to get on our collective soapbox and share some information we find essential to the eyeglass shopper. A lot of folks get caught up in labels. Others think big, recognizable brand means good quality. And in some instances that would be correct. But in the world of eyewear, Gucci doesn’t mean good, and D&G should stand for dead and gone.
Some of us here have worked in the the corporate driven eyeglass world, where big names mean big sales. Customers drop a lot of $$ just because they want to have Prada written on the side of their head, or gold and crystal encrusted Fendi decals. But my, oh my, how quickly those crystals tarnish and fall off!! And even more frequently, how quickly that spring hinge snaps right out of its socket.
Here’s a little secret: These label frames didn’t come off of a runway in Milan. They were not featured in anyone’s Spring Collection. Heck…they weren’t even designed by the designer whose name is on them! Most of these frames are made the exact same way that those frames you wouldn’t be caught dead in are made. Someone just bought the rights to slap on some glitter and etch a name into the plastic. (By the way, Randy Jackson doesn’t even wear his own line.)
That’s why we at Eye Spy take such pride in our collection of frames. And why we have respect for anyone and everyone who can appreciate them. These frames are actually HANDCRAFTED by experts who only make eyeglasses. And when I say handcrafted, I mean they are designed, created, painted, and decorated by human hands. They are engineered to last and withstand the abuse of the one-handed pull-offers, and the i-sleep-face-down-in-my-frames people.

and forgive our sour-puss faces when you make the mistake of asking if we carry Chanel and the like. It’s just because we like to take care of our customers and adorn their faces with real luxury.

Joe is rocking OUT in his new RES/REI Aurelio shades. RES/REI is one of our new lines, flown in from Italy. We like to take care of our men so we snatched up this line with the boys in mind! Presenting our Beautiful Customer of the week Querida…in her new sassy-pants Francis Klein Ginga frames!
Querida came in on a whim wanting frames that are as sassy as she is. Well, we sure did find them! We had a tough call between two frames but these ones really are perfect for her. Querida’s style and flair inspired our Specs Wrangler to get an asymmetrical haircut as well! Thanks for being so awesome Querida and being our sassy customer of the week!

We are so pumped to welcome RVS by V into our little Eye Spy family of awesome eyewear. RVS is a line unlike any other, and the very first eyewear company to be based out of Istanbul, Turkey. The line started in 2006 and is going strong with a beautiful selection of matte colors. Each frame is hand made and fits right in to their vision for “quality eyewear built to last a lifetime.”
Vidal Erkohen, founder of RVS, started in eyewear by supplying eyewear boutiques, runway shows and some celebrities with vintage eyewear. Erkohen then founded RVS with the goal of bringing back the originality and quality of vintage eyewear.

Welcome to the first full week of 2013! We are so excited to ring in the new year with our very first Customer of the Week…Jessi! Jessi is jumping for joy in her new Anni Shades Glimpse frames! She looks awesome in the kelly green with the pop of yellow sandwiched in-between.
Jessi will be showing off her new frames at her new job as a Librarian! (It’s hard not to have the Music Man song go though your head. “ Marian…..Madam Librarian“). So, she’s a little excited!? New job, new city…. off to a good start Jessi!
