We’ve had a blast over the past couple of weeks, helping our super-awesome and totally fun customers find some truly fantastic frames!
So much fun, in fact that we have not one, not two, but THREE, yes THREE Customers of the Week!
First up is Sissie:
The Optician Magician helped Sissie find these ic! berlin frames and they fit her perfectly!
When Sissie found Eye Spy, she had never felt 100% comfortable in her glasses. But, when she picked up her new frames, she told us that our doctor (the awesome Karen Squier, OD) made her feel really comfortable and was thorough with the exam. We’ve always known that Dr. Squier is one of the most patient and thorough doctors around, but it was really nice to hear that from a customer! We are so happy that we were able to help Sissie find an
ic! berlin frame and
Hoya ID lenses that makes her feel comfortable and confident! Hooray!
Next we have Diane:
The Specs Therapist is all about helping our customers go on vacation in style.
Diane tried on a few pairs of sunglasses, but when she found these
Lafonts, we knew, these were the ones! Alas! Diane was about to go on vacation and needed the sunglasses ASAP! We did our best and made them as quickly as possible and just days before her trip, Diane was able to pick up her brand new, absolutely fantastic,
Lafont sunglasses!
And last, but certainly not least, we have Larissa:
Our Opticianista is a matchmaker like no other when it comes to Theos.
I feel like this is a Cinderella situation. Sometimes there is a frame in the store that is so remarkable and awesome that it is just waiting for the right person. The frame is just waiting for that perfect fit and personality and when it happens, WOW! Magic. Bells. Angels singing. Rainbows sparklings. Stars shining. Larissa and this

Oh, it’s been a while since we’ve posted a Customer of the Week around here! There’s been so much excitement, what with a new baby and new Theos and new Francis Kleins! It’s all been too much fun!
But you know what they say, good things come to those who wait!
We think our newest Customer of the Week looks so spectacular in his new frames that it was worth waiting for:
We love this Theo frame on Robert so so much! The color makes his blue eyes shine(!) and the green is just enough. What a great choice!

What perfect timing! Just a few days ago, we were waxing rhapsodic about Theo and this weekend, Christopher picked up his brand new Theo Eyewitness frames!
How cool are these?!
Christopher found a pair in the store, but our frame was mostly black. He wanted something a little brighter, so we ordered two colors for him to try, he chose the silver and black, and wow-oh-wow, do they look great!

Christine is one of our favorite customers because she has a classic, but adventurous sense of style when it comes to glasses! She just has a face made for frames, no matter what she puts on, it looks like each frame was made just for her (lucky!).
But, she recently decided that she needed a frame that was a little more “tame” for those occasions when hot pink just would not do. Still, she wanted her personality to be able to shine. As Christine shows, it’s possible to be adventurous and fun, while still wearing a frame that showcases clean lines and top-notch design:

What makes this Theo frame perfect for what Christine wanted is that it’s pretty and light, but it has a secret:

At Eye Spy, we have the best neighbors in the world!
The other day, Joe was bringing by posters for the Pets @ Paulina Pet adoption event. When he came into the store, he asked about new styles. Immediately, we knew he was meant for two lines, Rapp and Oliver Goldsmith. You see, we got to talking with Joe about the spectacle stylings of a one Sir Michael Caine.

Joe tried on this Oliver Goldsmith sunglass frame and it was meant to be!
We’ve loved this frame since it arrived in the store and we’ve been waiting for the perfect person to take it home. Joe is that person! His shared love of the classic Oliver Goldsmith style won our hearts!

Mary here has been a customer of Eye Spy for a real. long. time. She’s always finding the coolest, most interesting sunglasses and eyewear. We love her spirit and her energy whenever she’s in the store!
So, last year, when she told us she was moving to North Carolina, we cried. But she promised us she would visit, and she kept her promise!
Before she moved, Mary bought these *fantastic* Francis Klein frames. We mailed them to her in NC and weren’t able to see the final look. So when Mary stopped by the store, we HAD to take her picture because this Francis Klein frame looks Terrific!

Whoo-Hoo! Our Customer of the Week this week has some great timing! Jill came to Eye Spy during our Anne et Valentin trunk show and fell in love with this purple frame from the Anne et Valentin Factory series.
Anne et Valentin has the coolest inspiration! Their Factory series of frames were inspired by Andy Warhol (hence: Factory). All of the frames are polished and then re-shaped to give the edges and the temples a rough edge. Utilizing the spirit of Warhol’s Factory, this series of frames has an extra spark of personality and feel like a revelation every time they’re worn!
So you can see, Jill made a pretty awesome choice with this frame! How could we not crown her our CUSTOMER OF THE WEEK?!!

Once upon a time, in 2005, a girl named Erin sought new eyewear. She searched high and low the miles of Chicago blocks until she came upon Eye Spy Optical, like a beacon in the rain….
At Eye Spy, Erin met a young man named Sean. He had a mohawk and Erin knew she was in the right place. Sean guided Erin to a display of eyeglass frames in pastels, in bright colors of blue and yellow, frames covered in rhinestones! Hand painted flowers on the sides! If loving these
Francis Klein frames was wrong, Erin didn’t want to be right.
And so, on that day so many years ago, a girl named Erin found her eyeglass soulmate in a beautiful lilac frame with silver decoration from
Francis Klein. And they lived happily ever after……until……Erin lost the frame…..!!!
It’s not so easy to replace a missing piece of one’s heart. Still in mourning, Erin moved on to other, more sparkly, more colorful, fantastic and glorious Francis Klein frames!
But still, a piece of her eyewear life was missing. What’s a girl to do?
The obstacles were endless. The original frame was purchased five years ago, maybe the frame wasn’t in stock! Maybe the color of the frame wasn’t available! Oh dear!
Hush hush now, don’t cry. Here at Eye Spy, we’ll go that extra mile to reunite lost loves. We tracked down the original color and design. Contacted
Francis Klein all the way in France and made sure that we could replace, exactly, Erin’s lost frame, which she fondly refers to as her “My Little Pony” frame.
Now, Erin and her frame can live happily ever after.
And oh, by the way, she’s totally CUSTOMER OF THE WEEK!

At Eye Spy, we try to keep a wide variety of frames available, so we never have to say, “I just don’t have anything for you.” We’ve got something for everyone, for real.
Sometimes, a customer will like a frame that we have in stock, but they may want to try another color. That’s what happened when Ryan came into the store and tried on the Claire Goldsmith Carter frame. He wanted to try something darker than the colors we had in stock. No problem, we ordered the frame in two colors so Ryan could try two versions of the frame.
Ryan chose the smokescreen frame, and there’s no denying it was the right choice, this frame looks GREAT!
We liked the black Claire Goldsmith frame that Ryan passed on so much that we decided to keep in in the store. Well, wouldn’t you know it, not two days later Julia came into Eye Spy looking for a frame *exactly* like the Claire Goldsmith frame in black. FATE!

Isn’t it lovely when two people can make the same frame suit their own personality and style so well?!

Although we try to carry the coolest, most awesomest eyewear around, we occasionally have customers who have their own fantastic vision for what they want their eyewear to be.
Landi came into our store and saw that we had a sparkly Francis Klein frame that she liked, but not quite the color that she wanted. No problem, our very own Queen of Specs, went through the Francis Klein catalog and found the perfect color for this most perfect frame.
