Our CUSTOMER OF THE WEEK, Jeanne, came in to Eye Spy looking for a new look. She liked an Anne et Valentin frame, but wanted to make sure she liked the color, so she took advantage of the November Trunk Shows and came in to do a little trying on of this and that. Still, it was the original frame that held her heart.
But here’s the kicker, Jeanne has really light (and lovely) blue eyes, so sun protection is very important. With the style frame she chose, a sun clip can be tricky. The traditional model has little claws that go over the side of the frame, which on a plastic frame is great, but on a metal frame can scratch the paint and make the frame look more worn than it is.
But Jeanne has great timing, yes she does, because she came in to Eye Spy shortly after the launch of the Chemistrie sunlenses. The Chemistrie sunlens is a clip that puts a small magnet in the lens of the glasses and a small magnet on the sun clip so when wearing the clip, the frame looks seamless and as though it was meant to protect baby blues from the sun’s craaaaazy rays.

This weekend, we had the full Lafont collection in the store and, let me tell you, it was easy to fall in love.
One frame really stood out. The Lafont ESTHER stole my heart!
I, personally, adore the frame in this dusty rose color:
But if you stop by Eye Spy, you’ll be able to take a peek at this frame in black and leopard.
I love the contrast between the plastic sides and the titanium front. It’s a great way to give the frame a bold look without adding a lot of weight.
I also J’ADORE the little metal decoration at the temples. They’re like a 50s car and they say, “Yes, I am this wonderful.”
The frame is a fairly traditional cat-eye shape, but it doesn’t swoop too much, so the focus is still on the face and delightful eyes of the person wearing it. The Lafont Esther is just one of those frames that makes my heart sing and my feet dance dance dance all the way to Eye Spy!

This week the Queen of Specs herself has a frame to fawn over. She has chosen the
Rapp Edna as her pick of the week!
She likes that it is a crazy one-of-a-kind frame with a soft pink color that has a nifty fade.
The Edna is part of
Rapp’s Drag Queen Series. While they typically only make 30 sets of their collection to send to 30 lucky stores (Eye Spy included!), for the Drag Queen series, they only made one set. Which means that this frame really is an individual.
The Queen of Specs likes that this frame is hand cut and finished in North America.
She also likes that the Edna is chunky on the front and has lightweight titanium temples.

This week, the Specs Therapist (Hey, that’s me!) chose the Claire Goldsmith Irwin as her pick of the week.
The Specs Therapist (Still me!) loves the dramatic shape of this otherwise subtle cat-eye. The rounded lens exaggerates the angles at the temples, which makes any lady wearing it look more vibrant and alert.
Also: totally digging the tortoise design, which gives the frame light and darkness and looks a little different from any angle.
Love this frame. Love that it’s sturdy and studious with a wink for the mischief makers among us.

Our Customer of the week this week is ABBY!
Abby came in to Eye Spy a while back and found a fantastic pair of Anne et Valentin frames in a lovely shade of purple that really set off her blue eyes!
But, alas, that frame was lost never to be found.
So, with the replacement frame, Abby decided to try something new.
Wow, Abby looks great in her new frame!This is also an Anne et Valentin frame, but this is a titanium frame that has a black to blue gradient treatment that gives the frame an extra little “Hello!”
We love this frame on Abby, that’s why she is our Customer of the Week!

We get calls from Francis Klein fans all over the US looking for this frameThis week, the Opticianista selected the Francis Klein Edna as her pick of the week.
The Opticianista loves that the Edna in black is bolder, while the tortoise version of the frame is 
more subtle, showing that Francis Klein frames can work on may different faces. This subtle cat-eye is very flattering and can be worn by women of any age.
She also likes all the intricate details and stone work that this frame has. In fact, she says it might be the most sparkly frame we have in the whole store!
