Hey there all you Eye Spy-ers and funky eyewear wearers! We’d like to introduce you to a first time customer and our newest Customer of the Week: Jaime!!
Adorable Jaime came in to our shop with dreams of her perfect frame. When we asked what exactly it was that she’d been dreaming of, she said she specifically wanted an oversized frame; either red or hot pink. It was almost TOO easy. We opened the Caroline Abram case, and there it was: the perfect frame. It was like Caroline Abram made this red and magenta “Flore” frame just for Miss Jaime! She tried them on…and that was pretty much it. Love at first sight! And to make matters even sweeter, her glasses came back from the lab just in time for her birthday!
So, Happy Birthday Jaime!! We hope you and your specs are very happy together. <3

We are so excited about our big plans for our GreenScene event this year! We are mixing it up once again and having two pop-ups, along with DIY activities that are suitable for all-ages.
To start us off on Saturday, April 12th…Lost Girls Vintage will be stationed out front with their pop-up, Winnie; she is a friendly RV loaded with vintage clothing and accessories! For the DIY portion of the day, our friend Julie will be teaching bird nesting helpers and some seed starting techquines.
Next up, on Saturday, April 26th….we will be having a fundraiser for the Read/Write Library. Unfortunately, their mobile BiblioTreka was stolen, so they need some bucks to replace it:-( We will be teaching a class on how to transform old card catalog cards into little notebooks…and the library will be here with a small portion of their collection.
And to top it all off…we will have the entire collection of Eyebobs readers and Mykita eyewear here for a trunk show on the 26th too!! We have really out-done ourselves this time! Stay tuned for another blog post that highlights these lines.
And as an Earth Day reminder…we are staunch environmentalists here at Eye Spy and have been this way since day one, 15 years ago. We compost, save & give used packing materials away to neighboring businesses, never buy any paper, email receipts, put LED bulbs in our outdoor sign, use china and glass instead of disposables…and recycle, recycle, recycle! Whew. Over and out!

Big St. Patty’s Day cheer for our new Customer Of the Week, Margaret!!
After much deliberation, anticipation, and waiting…Margaret decided to go with a customized pair of Anni Shades “Chapman” in Sapele wood! We love our wooden frames, so we were more than happy to put Phil (one of the craftsmen behind Anni Shades) over in Alliance, Ohio to work on these one-of-a-kind beauties! Now, in any dire situation, Margaret will always have some wood to knock on…just in case. 
By the way, there of less than a handful of wooden frame designers out there, and even fewer who do it right. And Anni Shades are only sold in a handful of store across the entire country. How’s THAT for exclusive, guys!?

Christie had been pining for a pair of glitzy Francis Klein frames with just the right amount of purple and sparkle. After many trials and tribulations, we finally got to the right frame: a customized Francis Klein “Iona” in crystal lavender with pink Swarovski crystal decor…and icy blue temples! We appreciate that she was patient during the grueling process of finding the perfect frame. And we’re so happy she chose these flawless beauties!

We couldn’t have picked a better customer/frame match here, folks. Caroline Abram makes some pretty sweet cat eyes, but it takes a special person to rock them with finesse and class. Whelp, Stacie does that and more with this Caroline Abram “Ines” frame in red and cherry. Stacie looks like she came camera-ready for this photo shoot, but that’s just her natural beauty accentuated by those stunning specs!

We will be having Brenda Arelano here giving FREE makeovers. She works for NBC, but is squeezing us into her busy schedule! If you google Brenda…you will see her in her many different pairs of specs from Eye Spy Optical:-)
Along with our usual lovely makeup artist Brenda giving FREE makeovers, joining us this year will be Laura from Maven Collection!! Maven specializes in ethically-sourced products that are handmade by artisans across the globe. Maven is based in Chicago and has a fabulous assortment of accessories & home goods…that will be at Eye Spy for the day!
We have also invited another Laura…Laura of Hunter Gatherer Jewelry.

We have noticed a trend over the past 15 years here at Eye Spy. People LOVE their Theo Eyewear. The frames are handmade in Belgium and have style of their own.
Some of our customers love their Theo’s so much, they keep them for over 8 eight years! Other customers love their Theo’s so much that they purchase one or two new pairs per year:-)
Either way, we are glad that they endure the test of time…and our cutomers have glasses that they love soooo much.

Angela! Oh Angela, how we love you…and your sister’s great taste in glasses!
Angela fell in love with these Theo Soixante-Deux frames….and had to have this beautiful tortoise and purple color, so we special ordered it for her:-) Theo frames are available in at least 8 different colors…and some frames are available in 20 different colors!! OMG.
Usually, we do not have all 8 colors in-store….
BUT, this Saturday the 16th, we are having a trunk show with every shape AND every color in the Theo collection!! Don’t faint…just come in and try-on everything!
